Linda Ewertz (pianist and organist)
First Lutheran Church has had a Rodgers 750BE organ for over 27 years.
It had served us well, but with recent repairs it became clear that it
would have to be replaced. We wanted to continue with a Rodgers
organ and knew of Peggy Bartunek of Rodgers Classic Organs in Grafton,
ND. We called Peggy with our wish list. There were several
considerations: Affordable price; Ease of operation: Full organ
sound and; Automatic bass option (a must!). I consider myself a pianist
who plays the organ so I needed a user friendly model. We also had a
young high school student who was a talented pianist that we hoped would
be able to play the organ someday. Bottom line: we needed an
organ that could be played successfully by a pianist. Peggy
suggested the Rodgers C-380. It was a perfect match!
On March l, 2011 we installed our new marvel. Peggy stayed the
entire day working with me, teaching me how to use the organ, setting up
all the stops and settings we would ever need, and even helping me
rehearse the music I would play the next Sunday. I wanted everyone
to love the new organ as much as I did. She was very patient and
offered invaluable insight and advice.
Well…. The congregation was spellbound beginning with the first note
played of the prelude through the final note of the postlude! The
sound was magnificent! The congregation was buzzing with excitement.
Everyone loved the organ!
Peggy’s support did not stop after the installation of our Rodgers
C-380 organ. Over the past year Peggy has offered musical support
through phone conversations and emails. While practicing Christmas
Eve morning this past year a problem developed! What am I going to do?
How do I fix this? I called Peggy who took time out of her busy
Christmas schedule to walk me through the adjustment that needed to be
done. Disaster averted. Our Christmas Eve service was one of
the best ever, thanks to Peggy. We sent her a bouquet of flowers because
we were so appreciative!
I highly recommend Peggy for her professionalism, her personal
attention to detail, patience and outstanding service. The Rodgers
C-380 will serve our First Lutheran family well for many years.
