​​ RODGERS CLASSIC ORGANS HISTORY
Rodgers Classic Organs served North Dakota, South Dakota, and northwest Minnesota as the Rodgers factory authorized dealer from 1988 to 2019.  All of Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin were added in 2019 following the retirement of the Minneapolis Rodgers representative. In May of 2023 the dealer territory was reorganized to include the Minnesota territory, the northern two-thirds of Wisconsin, Michigan’s U.P.  Popplers Music was assigned North, Dakota, South Dakota, and western MN.   

​Rodgers Classic Organs has installed over 300 digital and hybrid pipe organs since 1988.

Peggy Dahl-Bartunek, president and owner of Rodgers Classic Organs since 1988, has represented Rodgers, Johannus, Makin and Copeman Hart organs for more than 300 churches, institutions, and homes in MN, ND, SD and WI, serving as the consultant, installation advisor, and provider of musician in-service. 

​Under Peggy’s leadership and guidance, Rodgers Classic Organs has grown to currently become the 2023 national Top Two Dealer for Rodgers Instruments. 

​She is the principal organist and choir accompanist at the Church of the Epiphany in Coon Rapids, MN and also substitutes at several churches in the Twin Cities area.
Peggy hold a B.S. in Music Education from the University of North Dakota, taught choral music for many years, is an experienced guest choral conductor, adjudicator, presenter of workshops, director of stage musicals, and a piano and organ accompanist. She is a member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).

Peggy’s background in music education inspires her to nurture the growth of future organists.  In her position at the Church of the Epiphany in Coon Rapids she encourages young people to try their hand at playing Epiphany's four-manual Rodgers Infinity 489 organ.

In May of 2023 Val became an organ consultant for Rodgers Classic Organs, Minneapolis, serving Minnesota, the northern 2/3 of Wisconsin, and Michigan's U.P.   Previously, as the authorized distributor of Rodgers organs in the northern 2/3 of Wisconsin and Michigan's U.P. between 2003 and May of 2023,  Val Bartlein, Waupaca, WI successfully consulted with churches and institutions   in the selection, design, and installation of many organ installations.  
Val is an organist and vocalist who graduated from St. Norbert College, DePere, WI in 1985 with a business/marketing degree and extensive coursework in vocal music performance and liturgical music.  Prior to his relationship with Rodgers, Val served as Music Minister for St. Norbert College from 1994-2001.  Val also has an exceptional gift for presenting useful workshops to musicians, helping them to make the most of their new instruments. ​

Jay Hunstiger joined the Rodgers staff as a consultant in 2022.  He is an excellent organist with deep knowledge of hybrid and digital organs, building styles and acoustics, fundraising, service-playing, and organ literature.  Jay was raised in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He was the Director of Music at St. Mary’s Cathedral Church in St. Cloud as well as St. Augustine’s Church on the east side. In 1975 he became Director of Worship at St. John the Baptist Parish in Excelsior, Minnesota and then Director of Worship at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis. 
He also served at St. Anne’s in North Minneapolis and Our Lady of Perpetual Help on the West Bank of the University of Minnesota. Jay came to St. John the Baptist in New Brighton in May of 1999 where he served for 21 years before retiring in 2019. He is a published composer and arranger of liturgical music in Great Britain and the United States.   Jay's YouTube recordings are made at St. John the Baptist in New Brighton on the five-manual  1137 twelve-rank Rodgers Digital Hybrid/Hendrickson pipe organ and his home three-manual drawknob Rodgers Artist Series 599 organ.

Gary He has been installing and servicing Rodgers and ​ Johannus organs since 2019.  He has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, served on the UWSP chemistry department staff until 2019.  He farms, is an expert at repairs, and brings a lifetime of knowledge in construction and electronics to his service work.

​Alex grew up in the pipe organ building business and has extensive experience with building, installing, cleaning, maintenance, tuning and servicing pipe organs.  He has been tuning pianos in the Farg0-Moorhead area since 2020.  He is especially talented at playing theatre organ! 

​ Alex joined the Rodgers Classic Organs service team as an independent technician in 2022.

Terry Osowski
Position:  Friend of Rodgers, helping when possible! 

Terry is a full-time journeyman electrician but consults with Rodgers Classic Organs when his schedule allows.  He has a background in pipe organ building and has led several Rodgers installations and repairs since 2020.  His most recent involvement included a large installation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eau Claire, WI pictured here.  Terry's  meticulous attention to detail is evident in every situation.​
